Pinballs especially built for the italian market (and laws)
Due to special limitations by different laws, pinballs to be operated in Italy have to accomplish some rules: for example, no credit awarding and no prizes of any kind.
Even extra balls were sometime forbidden, and couldn't be shot by the player but automatically by the machine (usually from between the two bottom flippers).
It was also preferred to not display extra balls by just adding them to the current ball in play, but instead they were indicated by using some hidden subjects on the backglass (especially in Gottlieb machines).
Here is a list of the Gottlieb machines I'm sure (at the moment!) they were especially built for Italy.
Some manufacturers (like Gottlieb and sometime Williams) even changed the name of the pinball for the italian version; other didn't (like Bally).
Other manufacturers, like Bally, Williams and Rally (France) built special versions of their more popular pinballs, adjustable to be operated in Italy with a few changes (usually it was sufficient to move a couple of jacks): these games, by the way, usually had the same name as the original credit version.
Also, these special add-a-ball versions were also sold in other places, like New York, were there was a law very similar to the italian one, about operating em pinballs.

A causa di particolari limitazioni secondo le leggi vigenti dell'epoca, i flippers per l'Italia dovevano avere particolari requisiti, negli anni '60-'70: ad esempio niente vincita di partite o di premi di qualunque genere.
Persino le palline extra non dovevano, in certe regioni, essere tirate dal giocatore, bensi' doveva essere il flipper a tirarle automaticamente, di solito dalla buca passando in mezzo alle due palette.
In ogni caso, le palline vinte non potevano essere indicate dal flipper semplicemente aggiungendole a quelle rimaste da giocare indicate nel vetro della testata: erano mostrate in gran segreto (!) con l'accendersi di certi particolari nel disegno, fino ad un massimo di 5.
Ecco di seguito una lista dei flippers Gottlieb di cui sono (al momento!) sicuro che furono costruiti appositamente per il nostro paese, e qui solo commercializzati.
Di solito tali versioni avevano il nome diverso dal corispondente apparecchio a crediti; altre volte il nome era identico.
Anche altre marche, come la Bally, la Williams e la francese Rally costruirono, di alcuni loro flippers, particolari versioni adattabili, con poche semplici modifiche (di solito era sufficente spostare un paio di connettori), alle leggi italiane: questi flippers, pero', spesso avevano lo stesso identico nome di quello originale americano a crediti.
Inoltre, queste versioni "per l'Italia" erano vendute ad esempio anche nello stato americano di New York, dove fino agli anni '70 erano in vigore limitazioni simili a quelle italiane.
