Playmark

  • A firm based in Milan, The site, active until 2016, is not longer responding.
  • Prior to 1993, has built several illegal copies. These are missing of any brand or even have the original manufacturer's one, but some details on the cards reveal, with no doubt, they are produced by Playmark.
  • Playmark began to produce original games in 1993.
  • After three years, it decided to market gambling machines only
  • Playmark games are recent and were wide distributed, and it seems they are never even been subjected to seizures; therefore, they are all traced and emulated in MAME (although some old bootlegs aren't working).

Best League

Hack Big Striker of Jaleco: in one version, we have italian league teams instead of national teams.

Dr. Tomy

This game runs on the first Gaelco games, and at least a digitized sound was "stolen" from Big Karnak.

Super Slam

This was the first game Playmark on proprietary hardware.

Hard Times

With this game debuted the final version of the hardware Playmark. The emulation in MAME is now close to perfection.

Power Balls

This game runs on two different hardware platforms,

Big Twin

This is the first of a long list of games in which the goal is to get to enjoy photos of pretty girls (and of course score many points).

According to emulab.it, there's a manga artwork version unlike the digitized version in MAME. Said to be owned by an Arcade Otaku member.

Hot Mind

You can win tokens

Lucky Boom

Strange hybrid game, you can win extra credits also.

Magic Sticks

Similar to Hot Mind.

World Beach Volley

The last game "for all" of this company, it is in many ways their masterpiece. Sound emulation in MAME has musch improved from version 0.181, but the music is still missing.

Excelsior

This game is full of adult-theme pictures, result of an agreement with the italian magazine "Excelsior", from which the name. With this creation, Playmark stopped the production of "classical" coin-op, and focuses on the gambling games marketing (starting from Super Derby).
